“…I was representing more than just myself” —Ed Welburn

Some years ago, I had the opportunity to work with Ed Welburn immediately after his retirement from General Motors, where he served as the Vice President of Global Design. Ed was kind and taught me a lot. One of the things that I noticed about him, was that he is always designing. He’d sit at his desk and design cars, trophies, shoes—you name it. This passion is something that I’d want to keep throughout my life time. In 2023, Ed received an Emmy for his appearance on a PBS39 Black History Month segment. A friend and I felt that we should mark the moment; so, I designed a card based on quote from the segment and we had it made into this engraved card.
